19th Korea-Russia Forum Held
On December 10, 2020, the 19th Korea-Russia Forum was held through the cooperation of the Korea Foundation; the Russia-Korea Society, Russia; and the Asia-Pacific Research Center of Hanyang University, Korea.

Organized online under the theme “Three Decades of ROK-Russia Relations: Retrospect and Prospect,” the forum was broken into two sessions: one reviewing and suggesting a vision for bilateral diplomatic cooperation, and the other examining the characteristics and dynamics of the two countries’ cooperation in economics and culture.

South Korean Vice Foreign Minister Lee Tae-ho, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov, and Russian Ambassador to South Korea Andrey B. Kulik made congratulatory remarks. Korea-Russia Dialogue Coordinating Committee Chairman and former South Korean Ambassador to Russia Lee Kyu-hyung delivered a keynote speech on his proposals for the continued development of the bilateral relationship.

Other forum participants included former Ambassador to Russia Park Ro-byug, former Ambassador to Kazakhstan Baek Ju-hyun, and former Ambassador to Croatia Byun Dae-ho on the Korean side; and Moscow State Institute of International Relations President Anatoly Torkunov, former Ambassadors to South Korea Gleb Ivashentso and Alexander Panov, and former Ambassador to North Korea Valery Sukhinin on the Russian side.
