Support for Korean Studies

The KF contributes to building an infrastructure for Korean studies around the world.

To ensure that objective knowledge and information on Korea is utilized in the international community, the Korea Foundation provides support to prestigious universities for the establishment of Korea-related faculty positions and hence courses, as well as to Korean studies scholars for their research and teaching activities. Various types of scholarship and fellowship programs are also supported in order to nurture the next-generation experts on Korea.

Cultural Exchange

Creating cultural connections between Korea and the world

Through a variety of culture and art programs, The Korea Foundation makes Korean culture better known to the world and also supports the establishment and operation of Korean galleries and programs at world-renowned museums. The Korea Foundation also introduces other cultures to the Korean people and foreign residents in Korea through The Korea Foundation Cultural Center. Various programs, including exhibitions, performances, and lectures, are organized to provide those in Korea with an opportunity to experience and understand diverse cultures around the world.

Communicating with the world through knowledge

The Korea Foundation organizes various kinds of meetings with experts in diverse disciplines in order to discuss current issues and matters of common concern between the respective countries. The Korea Foundation also invites distinguished people and next-generation leaders to Korea and supports international conferences to engender understanding and friendship.

The KF provides information for the understanding of Korean culture.

The Korea Foundation enhances the understanding of the international community about Korea through the publication of periodicals such as Koreana and Korea Focus, Korea-related books in foreign languages, the screening of Korean films and television dramas abroad, and the distribution of Korea-related books and audio-visual materials to overseas institutions of Korean studies, including university libraries and research institutes.
