The KF Scholarship for Graduate Studies (GS) program aims to foster a new generation of Korean studies scholars by providing scholarship to students who are currently enrolled in an MA or PhD program in Korean studies.
> Students currently registered at a university
> Those with non-Korean citizenship
> Korean citizens with permanent residency status in other country
* Graduate students enrolled in natural science, medicine, engineering, MBA, law school, and translation and interpretation programs are not eligible to apply.
Approximately 150 around the world per year
Master's or doctoral programs in Korean studies in about 30 countries around the world
> Applicants are categorized into six groups according to the country of their university, and the application and selection process is implemented by each group.
* Grouping is based on the country of applicants' current university rather than that of their citizenship.

- Master's candidates are eligible to apply for funding for up to two years while doctoral candidates up to three years.
- Fellowship is not awarded if recipients do not reside in the country of their university during the fellowship period.
- Preference is given to applicants who are proficient in Korean so that they can use Korean primary sources for their study and research.
- Fellowship recipients may not hold concurrent fellowships from either the Foundation or other institution.
- Fellowship is valid only for the year as originally requested in their applications, and may not be deferred to the following year.
(1) Submission of a Report
Fellowship recipients are required to submit a report about their achievement within one month after the end of the fellowship period, using the KF's report form.
(2) Further Reporting Requirements
Upon obtaining their degrees, fellowship recipients are required to submit a copy of their master's thesis or doctoral dissertation to the Foundation. They are also required to inform the Foundation of their research achievements, major activities and any changes in their academic career.
